Little Heroes Comics was started in March 2017 by my fiancé, Aaron after being diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL) in 2013. Being a bit of a comic book lover, Aaron found reading comics was a great way to get through the monotonous days of being in the hospital.

Now cancer free, and also free of all related medication, Aaron wanted to create something that would help children suffering from long-term illnesses, whether they be inpatients or outpatients, so created the charity Little Heroes Comics to offer children fighting illnesses a moment of reprieve from their own day-to-day worries of treatment.

LHC currently provides children with a comic making kit which includes all the materials they need to practise, develop and create their own comics.

I couldn’t be prouder of all the work that he has put into bringing this to life, and I can’t believe it was only months ago when we were out walking in our local park when Aaron turned to me and said – “I want create a children’s charity. What do you think of the name Little Heroes?” And now, we are just starting to receive some pictures of children using the kits.

It’s been a lot of hard work and a lot more fun establishing the idea, completing all the paperwork, raising money, manually putting all the kits together and driving them/sending them to various hospitals and children’s trusts.

We have created out first batch of kits, and are now looking to get another 1000 kits made so we are currently trying to spread the word and get people donating. We are aiming to raise £5000 and have so far raised around £500 towards our target through fund raising schemes.

Please have a look at our pages, share it around, tell your friends and family and donate.
