The first time using a Garnier product was when my friend bought me the micellar cleansing water for sensitive skin. About 18 months ago, I was still using face wipes, and about 18 months ago I began to realise that facial wipes were really not the best thing for skin. After a lot of reading I tried the Bioderma Sensibio H20 micellar water. From fashion bloggers to Lisa Eldridge – a lot of people seemed to hype about this, but I have to say, for the price I was pretty disappointed. It was OK but I was expecting something a little more exciting.
After a little bit of research, I thought I would give the micellar cleansing water a try, so I was pretty happy when it arrived wrapped up for Christmas in a nice bow. After using this for a few months, I was really impressed, and when I saw that Garnier were releasing an oil-infused version, I knew I had to have it.
I suffer from dry skin and in the colder months, the flaky patches can become almost unbearable, so when I saw this, I thought yes – you, sir are right up my street.
USP: it promises to remove waterproof makeup, cleanse and nourish dry and sensitive skin. And I have to say: I do love it when a product does what it says on the tin. I have used it both as a cleanser and as a makeup remover and find that it is effective for both.
As a cleanser, I will use this as a pre-cleanser to remove the bulk of makeup before commencing with my regular routine for a deep cleanse, or I will use this as a light cleanse first thing in the morning. I don’t think I would recommend this as my main cleanser because the formula is quite light, but it will remove foundation, lipstick, brow gel, liner and mascara; it will also remove waterproof makeup but this will need a couple of goes to remove it completely. But for £3.99, this is ridiculously affordable.
What’s more – the scent is beautiful – really light and refreshing, and the oil infusion makes the product feel really hydrating and comfortable on the skin and leaves it feeling clean, soft and refreshed.
I’m probably just over a fifth of the way through it in the space of 24 days, and I use this nearly every day, often twice a day so I think the claim of 200 uses is probably about right.
I love having something easy and quick to use and I will definitely be purchasing this again when it runs out, and I certainly prefer this to Bioderma or facial wipes.
Thanks for reading!
